Progressive Ideology And Religious Freedom

In preparation for Tuesday's election, I would like to say the faithful should stand against a progressive presidency. They are no friend of the faithful. We know the Lord is in control and this world is not our home, but that does not mean we must not stand for what is right today.

"When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn." - Proverbs 29:2

Many issues validate this understanding from students who shouted "Jesus is Lord" at a political rally and were told they were at the "wrong event" before having them escorted out.

To declaring they will handcuff religious liberty by denying religious exemptions for abortion in healthcare. Thanks to their clarity, we know physicians with deeply held beliefs would be forced to perform an abortion even if it violates their convictions.

To challenging the nominations of US district court judges because they adhere to "traditional Christian teachings." This proves they do not believe anyone with Christian moral values is capable of fulfilling their agenda, and rightfully so, and should not have a voice.

To, in California, going after Hobby Lobby and other faith-based employers in an attempt to force them to include abortion pills as part of their health benefits.

Nobody is suggesting we turn our churches into campaign rallies.

But our secular nation has seized Christian values, rebranded them as political, and then asserted they are off-limits in our churches. Many pastors have dutifully, and a little too eagerly, conceded.

Today, at the crossroads of every significant cultural issue driving political narratives lies the Bible, which had the first word on most of these hot-button issues dating back over 2,000 years.

A Barna study found that out of the 68% of individuals in this country who identify as Christian, only 6% have a Biblical worldview. That's a startling number. How will individuals in our churches ever comprehend what the Bible says about our culture unless we tell them?

Our faith is not in a political candidate. It is in Christ. Good government cannot save us, but bad government can destroy us.

We know that, if elected, the progressive ideology is coming for our religious freedom. As laid out above, they have tried it before and are already promising to do it again.
